About AIIMS Jodhpur
AIIMS, Jodhpur is one of the six new AIIMS established as apex healthcare institutes by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY) with the aim of correcting regional imbalances in quality tertiary level healthcare in the country, and attaining self-sufficiency in graduate and postgraduate medical education and training .
About Department of Anaesthesiology
- The Department of Anaesthesiology was established in the year 2013, during the second phase of development of AIIMS Jodhpur. Presently the department is running six Operation Theatres, six-bedded ICU, and a five bedded High Dependency Unit (HDU) equipped with advanced anaesthesia workstations, servo- ventilators, high-end ICU monitors, blood gas analyser, syringe pumps, and other equipment. The department is also providing Anaesthesia services outside the Operation Theatres like Labour room, DSA etc. Till now the department has organised various workshops and courses like USG guided nerve blocks, FCCS, ACLS/BLS etc, which were highly appreciated by the delegates.

The former capital of Marwar state, Jodhpur, was founded in 1459 by RaoJodha. According to Rathore tradition, the clan traces its origins back to Lord Rama. . Situated on the foothill of a sandstone mound, it belongs to the oldest mountain system of Arravali in the world.The city of Jodhpur has grown around the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort. The climate is moderately hot (32° to 36° Celsius) during April. Nights are comparatively colder than daytime. Days are accompanied by plenty of sunshine and clear skies.
