All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Jodhpur (AIIMS Jodhpur) is an autonomous Institution established by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY). It came into existence as an Institute of National Importance by an Act of Parliament { The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (Amendment) Act, 2012 (No. 37 of 2012) }. The aim of the Institution is to correct regional imbalances in quality tertiary level healthcare in the country and attain self sufficiency in graduate, postgraduate and super-specialty medical teaching and training. The Institute offers Post-doctoral Fellowships (PDF) and Post Doctoral Certificate Courses(PDCC). The PDF and PDCC provides an excellent opportunity to obtain advanced training in a sub-specialty area. These programmes are organized by faculty specifically trained for this purpose. In addition to obtaining advanced clinical training, PDF and PDCC provides opportunities to gain hands–on experience in advanced sub specialty domains. The medical degrees, diplomas and other academic distinctions granted by the Institute are recognized qualifications under the Indian Medical Council Act.
